Heavy vehicles have been halted at the Sohawa section of the GT Road (Chakwal Mor) due to stringent security protocols for international cricket matches in Rawalpindi, featuring teams from South Africa, Sri Lanka, and now Zimbabwe.
Hundreds of trucks and trailers, carrying millions worth of goods, have been stranded for three to four days. Transporters fear severe financial losses as perishable items like fruit and vegetables inside multiple trucks are at high risk of spoiling.
